Using webmin, it is possible to start on the configuration of the system.
For DNS, create a forward zone for the local network. By convention this is given a TLD of .local eg I use wellsted.local. It is also good practice to create a reverse zone for the IP address range. This will speed up IP to name lookups. Now start adding the names and IP addresses of your machines. Don't forget to add the server and the router!
If required, configure DHCP for the network.
Now is also a good time to configure all the groups and users for the household. I recomend creating a group called ”users” and making this the primary group for every real user.
Check every login works, if not sort any problems out now.
